Having greatly admired the super-graphics that Fritz Gottschalk and Jennie Leibengutt produced for this client, Frederick found himself very fortunate, as Contraves’ staff designer to have the chance to design these six-foot panels. The only two parameters stipulated by the client were that the panels would have a connection to Contraves’ activities in aerospace, and that each panel would serve as a floor indicator for elevator traffic. U=Untergeschloss, or basement; E= Erdgeschloss, or groundfloor; and the requisite four upper floors.
